- Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa): a mild cleanser that gives a rich lather.
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine: a mild cleanser and foam booster derived from coconut oil.
- Cetyl Alcohol: a fatty alcohol that gives the bar a creamy texture and helps hair feel smooth.
- Behentrimonium Methosulfate (in BTMS-50): a conditioning ingredient made from rapeseed oil that helps with detangling.
- Stearic Acid: gives the bar structure.
- Cocoa butter: a rich plant butter that softens hair.
- Glycerin: helps hair hold on to moisture.
- Panthenol (provitamin B5): helps hair hold on to moisture and look shinier.
- Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate: the preservative system.
- Citric Acid: adjusts the pH of the formula.
- Coconut fruit powder: gives a soft coconut scent and texture.
- Parfum, Coumarin: fragrance, and a fragrance allergen listed by law.
- Wet your hair thoroughly.
- Rub the bar between your hands, or glide it over wet hair, to make a lather.
- Massage into the scalp, focusing on the roots.
- Rinse thoroughly. Follow with conditioner on the lengths if you need it.
- Store the bar in its bag so it can dry.
- Keep the bar out of standing water.
- Two or three glides over wet hair are enough.
- Use it to the last piece by keeping small ends in the bag.
Do I still need conditioner?
Shorter or finer hair may need little or none; longer or drier hair usually still benefits from a conditioner bar.
Is it soap?
No. It is a soap free solid shampoo.
Does it smell of coconut?
Yes, a soft coconut scent from the fragrance and coconut fruit powder.
How long does a shampoo bar last?
About 70 to 100 washes. At 3 washes a week, that is about 5 to 8 months, or longer if you wash less often.
Is Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate a sulfate?
No. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa) is a mild cleanser, not a sulfate cleanser like SLS or SLES.
